Active and passive verbs simply switch the focus:

Εγώ πλένω τα ρούχα μου - I wash my cloths. 

Τα ρούχα μου πλένονται - My cloths are washed. Notice that the form of the verb now agrees to the object of the action.

Some verbs don't have active forms, they express a state of being - κοιμάμαι (sleep), sit (κάθομαι), wish (εύχομαι), dream (ονειρεύομαι) etc.
